Are you there, God? It's me, Jules.

An early iteration of "Holy Crap", "Are You There God? It’s Me, Jules" is an evening-length solo blending dance, theater, storytelling, song, and character. Inspired by Julie's upbringing in a conservative Christian church in Tennessee, the work explores queerness, disability, identity, and the many voices that shape the stories we tell about ourselves.

Are You There God? It’s Me, Jules was developed during a winter 2021 residency at Earthdance in Western Massachusetts and premiered at NOHspace in San Francisco in April 2022. This work was made possible by Dancers' Group's CA$H Dance grant program.
